Ending spoilers I swear i thought Max was gonna die at the end, also ever since i saw Victor in the trailer saying 'we're all targets' i knew he was the bad guy, the game revealing he was a politician just confirmed it to me, also i thought Da Silva was gonna die as well i don't know why. I was happy to see Max chilling on the beach in Bahia, if MP4 ever gets made i hope Remedy get a part in the development.
I didn't think that Victor would be an antagonist, but I thought that Passos would be the main one. And when we first came across Da Silva, I thought he would end up betraying us somehow, too. I agree about a Max Payne 4, though. It seems like Max is finally at peace with himself, and I don't know where it could go from there. If this really is the final game in the series, then I'd say it's a fitting conclusion. Honestly, I loved the story throughout.

If this really is the final game in the series, then I'd say it's a fitting conclusion. Well, when you think about it, the last two games both ended with it feeling like he was at peace with himself, but they still managed to fit in some sequels. But yeah, I'm not expecting a Max Payne 4 any time soon. A remake/'reimagining' of the first game is a possibility though. Well finished the game twice now, once as a first normal run through, second on easy getting all the collectibles and just messing around with bullet time/shoot dodge, gotta say i loved it and do not regret purchasing it in the slightest. The MP has been pretty damn fun too, mainly using the MINI-30 and it is seriously powerful, haven't really seen much use out of any other weapons i've unlocked aside from that. I also have a spare code for the cemetery map for MP if anyone wants it, it's for 360 and will only work in the EU though.
So anyone feel free to PM me and let me know if you want it. You guys talking about using the Mini 30 in MP - are you talking freeaim?
Because I never get a perfect shot with the first bullet, so with the Mini not being automatic it was taking way too long to get a 2nd or 3rd shot in and I was getting slaughtered the one time I used it. Just grind it a bit until you get some attachments that make it more accurate. You'll be picking people off from long range and shooting them in the face from the hip from short range. Does anyone know what today's update (Xbox) did?
I'm extremely picky when buying my games. I want to make sure I'm getting quality that I can enjoy for more than just a few months. If games weren't so darn expensive then I might be a bit more lenient when deciding on purchases but with new games costing an excess of $65, one needs to be particularly vigilant. My question for you people who bought the game is: Should I buy Max Payne 3, and is it really worth spending 65 bucks on? If I do purchase it, it will be the PS3 version but I suppose it's no different from the 360.
Just throwing that out there in case there's anything I need to know about the PS3 version. I'm extremely picky when buying my games. If you are really sceptical wait a little until the price comes down. I think the only difference with PS3 is that is all on one disc. I'm extremely picky when buying my games. Only if you're into multiplayer, and a 3rd person shooter. Considering that RDR MP is still pretty well alive on the PS3, I would guess that Payne 3 will have pretty good longevity in multiplayer too. I finished Max Payne 3 story couple of days ago, and honestly this game's story mode has a good replay value to it with New York Minute and Score Attack. It also levels your multiplayer character up as well, which is pretty cool.
As for the ending, I was slightly disappointed that Max did not speak at the end at all, but it gave me a good feel of him just being able to relax. So it was all good for me and I enjoyed it regardless. I liked how we got fooled into believing Passos would stab you in the back after he ditched you in the helicopter. Really made me feel. 'This sh.t better not be true.'
Even though I doubt he would ever turn on you, it gave me some sort of feeling of losing hope in him. But logically, it wouldn't make sense if Passo decided to turn against you. But yes for those who haven't bought the game. If you enjoy Multiplayer similar to RDR and Uncharted 3, then just buy it. But if you play just for singleplayer, it is worth the rent as well. For me, this is one of the few games I buy that I will never sell back to the store.
Just throwing that out there in case there's anything I need to know about the PS3 version. The good news is, NO! This time Rockstar have worked on their PS3 engine! Gone are the days of 640p, Blurred Textures and minor framerate drops on the PS3 version. Max Payne 3 runs at 1280x720 on BOTH consoles, the PS3 versions uses MLAA whilst the Xbox 360 versions uses an altered version of FXAA. The AA is slightly better on the Xbox 360 because it makes use of the extra EDRAM put aside, but hell, compared to QxAA (PS3) and 2xMSAA (Xbox 360) that was used for GTA IV/Midnight Club LA/RDR, the difference is extremely minor.
Because the PS3 is now using MLAA instead of QxAA, the textures on world objects are no longer blurred (major plus for most people) so texture quality wise, they're a match. Framerate wise, the PS3 version is V-Synced at 30fps and maintains that a hell of a lot more better than previous Rockstar Games did on the PS3. Xbox 360 version is not V-Synced but maintains around 30fps with minimal tears, and if there is any tearing, it's done in the overscan area. Overall, a big improvement Rockstar, FINALLY using modern techniques that a lot of Developers have been using since 2010, it's good to see RAGE actually make use of each consoles specific hardware and not have it just built for the Xbox 360 and ported to the PS3 and PC. Of course what remains to be seen is the PC version which isn't out yet, but going off what they've done with their PS3 engine, here's hoping they've put just as much effort into the PC engine!
